HELLO FROM RYAN

I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember—my school workbooks were full of doodles, and it’s how I made friends growing up. Video games like Shadow of the Colossus and the Jak and Daxter series were huge inspirations, shaping my taste and the way I design worlds and characters. After high school, unsure of my next step, I applied to the Academy of Art in San Francisco on a whim. It didn’t take long to realize it wasn’t the right place for me—too many unrelated classes, high costs, and not enough focus on what I loved. While working a part-time job during school, I met another artist, and over time we bonded over our shared passions.

He introduced me to conventions, making stickers and small art books, and finding ways to connect with people beyond Instagram. In 2019, we shared a table at WonderCon, and after one too many unhelpful classes, I decided to drop out and follow the independent path I’d learned from him. That friendship changed my life. Since then, I’ve been working on improving my skills, learning from artists I look up to, and creating the best books, stickers, shirts, and prints I can.
